Vitamine E et cancer de la prostate

Des chercheurs ont testé l'effet de la vitamine E et d'autres antioxydants sur trois différents types de cellules de cancer de prostate. Deux de ces types de cellules étaient androgéno-dépendantes. L'ajout de vitamine E dans les cultures cellulaires a significativement inhibé la croissance des cellules androgéno-dépendantes alors qu'il n'avait pas d'effet sur les autres. La vitamine E bloque la croissance des cellules en induisant l'apoptose, un terme utilisé pour décrire l'autodestruction des cellules.
